Many national parks in Kenya are located 4-5 hours away by road from Nairobi. Increasingly many holiday visitors are opting to fly into the national parks to maximize their game viewing exposure.

Kenya's Coastal belt stretches nearly five hundred kilometers from the Tanzania border to the south, to Kiwayu on the Somali border to the north. Stretching for the whole of its length Kenya's beaches are protected by a coral reef within which are lagoons in which thrive the most fascinating and exotic marine life.

Lake Nakuru is one of the Rift Valley soda lakes at an elevation of 1754 m above sea level. It lies to the south of Nakuru, in the rift valley of Kenya, and is protected by Lake Nakuru National Park. The lake's abundance of algae used to attract a vast quantity of flamingos that famously lined the shore. Other birds also flourish in the area, as do warthogs, baboons, and other large mammals. Eastern black rhinos and southern white rhinos have also been introduced.

Masai Mara Game Reserve is Kenya's most spectacular of all Kenyan parks and reserves, and here you have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five - lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, and elephant. The Reserve covers an area of 700 square miles and forms part of the Serengeti ecosystem and hence hosts the world-famous spectacle of the annual migration of up to two million wildebeest, thousands of zebra, and an escort of carnivores from the Serengeti plains, following the rains and succulent new grass. April is NOT migration month but still, visitors will be able to see a large variety of wildlife in their natural habitat which is what Maasai Mara is famous for.

Mt Kenya National Park is a high altitude park lying at an altitude of between 3100 and 5300 meters. It is home to a wide variety of exotic Kenyan plants as well different species of wildlife. Most famous as the home of Mt Kenya, the second-highest mountain in Africa, many visitors return here each year for the excellent climbing opportunities this park offers and the breathtaking scenery that includes moors and glaciers and tarns and glades and peaks.

Nairobi National Museum is a one-stop exhibition centre showcasing Kenya’s rich history and colourful cultures and traditions of the various communities that make up our Nation. Exhibits go back to prehistoric times, then span the centuries to our colonial past, through the struggle for independence and beyond to contemporary Kenya.  A favourite place for both locals and tourists, adults and children alike, the Museum also offers within its grounds, the famous Snake Park, Botanical Gardens and Nature Trail.

On a good day, you can easily find one million flamingoes on the shores of Lake Nakuru.
